DuoAsk is a game for rehearsing hard conversations before the real one. In each story you sit across from someone who wants something from you: a friend asking you to invest, a boss with a tempting offer, a parent who wants to move in. You talk it through, ask questions, and give them your answer face to face. Then you see where your choice led a year later, and how you could have asked better.

What every round includes

A round is one complete rehearsal of a story, and usually takes under 10 minutes.

• The conversation. Talk with the character by typing, or tap one of the suggested replies. They react to what you ask, and only reveal what they have not been saying when you ask the right questions.
• Your decision. Give the character your answer face to face.
• A year later. A short account of what happened because of your choice, focused on the things you didn't find out.
• The review. How sound your decision was compared with the best option, whether the outcome was down to judgement or luck, the one thing you did best, line-by-line notes on 3 to 5 key moments with a better way to say each, and a question that would have uncovered each thing you missed.
• Questions to take with you. 5 to 8 questions for the real conversation, ready to copy.

• Drills. Practise one of 12 questioning habits in three short scenes. Reply, see how the other person reacts, and get feedback straight away. Drills never use rounds.

Stories

Eight built-in stories cover careers, managing a team, starting a business, investing, family, reading data and personal growth, such as "A friend asks you to invest", "Two candidates, one job" and "Should Dad move in?". You can also describe a decision you are facing in real life, and DuoAsk turns it into a story you can rehearse. A round is used when you start playing it.

Questions

What counts as a round?

A round is used when you send the first message of a story. Everything after that in the same story, including the ending and the review, is part of that round.

How are the characters made?

The dialogue, endings and feedback are written by AI. The character portraits are illustrations drawn for the game and are not generated by AI. They change expression as the conversation goes on. DuoAsk does not create images, voices or likenesses of real people.

Is this professional advice?

What happens to what I write?

It is saved to your account and sent to an AI model provider to generate replies. It is never sold or used for ads. See the Privacy Policy.
